FAQ's

What if I never tried Wake Surfing before?
Not a problem! We work with skill levels of all sorts. We thrive on watching people get up for the first time, let go of the rope and shred that wave! If you’re a beginner, this is the perfect opportunity for you to learn without any pressure!

What are the “Media Packages” all about?
Ever think back “I really wish someone was recording”. Well no worries, GlassyWake offers media packages that consist of Videos or Photos (or combo package). Get a 30 second video with highlights from the day or get that FaceBook default photo you’ve been dying for. Videos are edited and paired with royalty free music so you can post on any social media platform you desire.

What if I am late to my appointment?
Please refer to our cancellation policy. Unfortunately, being more then 20 minutes late will forfeit your reservation and payment (for hour long sessions). For sessions longer then 1 hour, it will cut into your ride time and the full reservation amount is still processed. If you are more then 1 hour late to a 2 hour+ session, the same forfeit policy applies. Unfortunately cancellations and no shows over the year make this policy required.

Do I tip my Instructor or consultan?
Tipping your instructor is absolutely NOT required or expected. We do allow our instructor to accept tips though, so if you feel like the consultants have done a great job - feel free to tip! We split up tips evenly between the entire day crew, and we greatly appreciate your generosity. However, we are happy just to bring the good times and experience them with our clients.

What if the weather all of a sudden looks terrible? What is the inclement weather policy?
Surfing in the snow, rain, or wind is not fun. We understand that we cannot control mother nature so in the instances where a reservation must be cancelled or rescheduled due to inclement weather - a transfer of reservations to a new day will be provided at no cost.

What are the best times to book?
Often, people think the best time to get out is the middle of the day when the day’s temperature reaches it max. Unfortunately, that is not true. While the hours of the day brings warmth, it also brings a change in conditions with the afternoon breeze and other boats - most of the time creating choppy conditions. However, the best time to surf is prior to 10am/11am (8am reservations) or later during sunset hours (weekdays)

How much lead time do I need to make my reservation?
We generally suggest you make reservations 1 week in advance but may take appointments after that time frame. Please reach out for special requests or questions - GlassyWake@gmail.com

What should I bring or wear?
Bring a towel, snacks, and drinks. Please be mindful of the type of snacks you bring as we do our best to keep the boat clean in between appointments and reservations (see suggested food below). Regardless of the weather forecast, we suggest you bring a hoodie or light jacket. An extra pair of socks is also suggested. We find that people tend to get the chills right after a surf session. Luckily, our boat heaters also hook up to our Surfinity blankets that help circulate warm air into your blanket and keep your warm on those chilly surf nights. Here is your checklist:
- Towel
- Swimsuit
- Waiver
- Sunscreen (Please make sure to apply BEFORE getting on the boat. No spray allowed)
- Hoodie or Light Jacket
- Snacks, food, drinks
